Seed priming influences on yield and protein content of wheat sown at different time

The aim of this field experiment conducted at the Agronomy Field Laboratory, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, was to investigate impact different seed priming techniques and sowing dates on yield quality wheat. study aimed identify most effective technique optimal date enhance wheat productivity minimize reduction. employed a split plot design with two factors: (no priming, hydropriming distilled water, osmopriming PEG, halopriming CaCl2) (November 20, December 05, 20). trial from November 2019 April 2020 research field. consisted three replications for each treatment combination. Osmopriming exhibited favorable results among all techniques, showing significantly higher values tillers hill-1 (3.91), number grains spike-1 (43.82), spikelets (16.16), grain (3.87 tons hectare-1), biological (6.02 t ha-1), harvest index (39.03%). No condition resulted in highest protein content (12.11%), while had lowest (11.77%). 20 yielded (3.57), (42.49), (15.75), (3.71 (9.70 (11.74%). Sowing (12.20%). Based study's findings, it can be concluded that technique, combined offers promising approach mitigate reduction This combination demonstrated (4.23 ha-1) compared other treatments. Therefore, farmers agricultural practitioners are recommended adopt optimizing production enhancing overall crop quality.
